The Ivy Tower Bridge is an Absolute Treat

Sep 20 2017 BY Jovanne Campbell

We were recently invited to dinner at the latest opening of The Ivy Collection in Tower Bridge. Located a short walk away from More London, the restaurant boasts an incredible view of Tower Bridge and the River Thames which is a major selling point. The Tower Bridge edition of The Ivy has a heated outdoor terrace sat right next to a gorgeous green space, but to really make the most of the view of both the bridge and the city, you’ll want to get a window table on the second floor.

To kick things off, we decided to order cocktails whist we explored the menu. The unique selection of cocktails looked tasty to say the least in which we opted for the rum based Oliver’s Twist coupe (Fresh Thai basil mixed with Havana 3 year old rum, lime juice, home-made Thai basil syrup & a drop of sea salt) and Modern Times coupe (Diplomatico rum mixed with Express Tosolini coffee liqueur, Orgeat syrup, freshly pulled espresso finished off with chocolate bitters).

For starters we opted for Truffle arancini (Fried Arborio rice balls with truffle and Parmesan), Sea scallops (Truffle risoni, shaved Parmesan, black truffle and sweet potato crisps), Zucchini fritti (Crispy courgette fries with lemon, chilli and mint yoghurt) and the Raw market salad which between two people felt like we had mains rather than starters. The quality of the dishes and portion size is real value for money.

For our mains we opted for the boneless Roast half chicken complimented with a side of baked sweet potato and the Roasted butternut squash with grains Buckwheat, chickpea, pumpkin seeds and pomegranate with crumbled feta, harissa yoghurt and coriander dressing which is a great vegetarian option. Our mains were complimented by a bottle of 2014 Gavi di Gavi, Morgassi Superiore white wine.

The Ivy Collection is one of the most prestigious chains in the UK and the opening of the latest Tower Bridge branch has only enhanced their reputation with their stunning location choice and exceptional British food. For the quality that The Ivy provides, another restaurant may charge prices that may have you looking twice at your bank statement; however this is certainly not the case here and we can only sing their praises on all fronts. We had a wonderful evening.
