A Fantastic Woman (Friday 2nd March)

While the vast majority of Oscar films have already been released in UK cinemas, we still have some foreign films nominated for Oscars to come out. Indeed, The Square, which is nominated for Best Foreign Language Film, is going to be available to watch in a few weeks. However, before then, we have A Fantastic Woman to be released.

The story of A Fantastic Woman focuses on Marina, played by Daniela Vega. Marina is a trans woman who had a relationship with a man thirty-years-older than her. However, Marina is shunned by the man’s family once he dies and the film has been praised for the way it handles its subject matter as well as the timely themes it showcases.

Game Night (Friday 2nd March)

We could all use a good comedy right now and Game Night looks like a film which ticks all the boxes in this regard. The story of the film focuses on a group of friends who get involved in a real-life murder mystery after what started as just a simple game night. Jason Bateman and Rachel McAdams are the leads in a film which has surprised many critics with how good it apparently is.

The dialogue, cast and pacing have all been praised and Game Night could turn out to be the biggest surprise of the year considering how it looked like expectations for this film were not very high. So, if you need to see a film which will lift your spirits and make you laugh then Game Night could be for you.
