After months of speculation, Nike and Off-White founder (Virgil Abloh), officially announce the release of a massive 10 sneaker collaboration capsule. After pictures of a destructed Jordan 1 began surfacing, rumours began circulating of a collaboration that were soon confirmed as Virgil graced the Met Gala in a pair. A$AP Mob’s “A$AP Nast”, then added fuel to the hype by posting an Instagram video featuring a similar deconstructed Nike Air Presto.
However, few anticipated at 10 sneaker drop that took an impressive 10 months to complete. Virgil himself states, work began instantly and that the “Jordan 1 was done in one design session”. A trusty X-ACTO knife was central to create the deconstructions, as the capsule is split into two themes: “Revealing” and “Ghosting”. Find classic Nike and Converse silhouettes, as Virgil believes his masterpieces “are on the same level as a sculpture of David or Mona Lisa”. Do You agree?
“The Ten” collection is set for release for November at NikeLab stores in NYC and London.
