Boiler Room will also be working in partnership with a number of leading charities on the initiative, including Go Think Big to offer placement opportunities on this event for a photographer, social media assistant, camera operator and artist liaison.
Additionally, Global Citizen joins as a partner. This leading charity works to encourage young people to learn about issues around social issues such as poverty, food security, women and girls, education and beyond by signing up to calls for action.
Since launching in 2010, Boiler Room has become renowned for creating and curating the best music, documentaries, and events from underground artists around the world, giving them a global platform. Boiler Room is honoured to have been invited by the Mayor to curate an all-female lineup of the most exciting artists and DJs hailing from London for the ‘Sounds Like London’ campaign. Dedicated to discovering and nurturing the best in underground music, Boiler Room was perfectly placed to assist in advocating London’s enthralling grassroots scene.
Heading the bill at City Hall will be Ray BLK. The first ever unsigned artist to be named on BBC’s Sound of… List in 2017, her irresistible blend of classically soulful vocals and grime-inspired lyrical wit is not to be missed. Also performing will be BBC Radio 1Xtra presenter, DJ and RnB lover Jamz Supernova, avant-garde singer-songwriter and rising popstar Rina Sawayama, punchy and poetic South London rapper Flohio, internationally renowned DJ Ellie Prohan and NTS host and queen of eclecticism A.G.
