Remembering Sinead Harnett’s Sold Out Show at Camden’s Jazz Cafe

Jul 26 2017 BY Jovanne Campbell

Since Sinead Harnett burst onto the scene all those years ago, one thing that has always been undeniable is her vocals. This was on show at her sold out concert at Camden’s Jazz Cafe, in which Harnett demonstrated how strong her catalogue of music is as she performed songs from previous mixtapes and from her latest, ‘Chapter One’. Having only recently started listening to Sinead Harnett, the quality of her music immediately tempted me to go to her show and she killed it. Her vocals are as unreal on stage, as they are in the studio versions of her tracks.

Chapter One has established her as one of the UK’s most promising talents, with her sound that has a modern take on R&B and Soul. The emotion in her songs, namely ‘Still Miss You’ and ‘Ally’, created an intense atmosphere that had the room stunned by her vocals. This was even more evident with her cover of Solange’s ‘Cranes In The Sky’. We were also treated to a guest appearance from the legendary Wretch 32, who performed his verse on ‘Heal You’.

Harnett closed the concert with her biggest single to date ‘If You Let Me’, which included an incredible encore from her band to close the show. There was no surprise when she was greeted by an eruption of applauds from a more than appreciative audience.
