These Songs Turn 10-Years-Old (2008 edition)

Jan 2 2018 BY Gerald Onyango

At the top of 2017, we brought the songs that will be turning 10-years-old and now as we say hello to 2018 we can rewind back to 2008 to see what came out 10-years-ago. There’s something beautiful but sad about the start of a new year, you celebrate with your loved ones the impending new year but when all the celebrations are over you realise you’re getting older. Especially us emerging adults, who just yesterday were in school dreaming of when we could finally – and legally – go out and get pissed on New Year’s Eve to now wishing we were back in the classroom  – funny how life works out, aye? But every year life seems to move faster and 10-years-ago doesn’t seem like it’s actually a whole decade ago. There’s no greater marker of time than music and we can exemplify it best with this list of songs that turn 10 this year. 2008 was a great year for music, Beyonce became Sasha Fierce, Lil Wayne was the greatest rapper alive, UK Funy House had its first take off  and Ne-Yo was looking for his Miss Independent. Check out these songs that turn 10 in 2018.
