Top 5 Box sets to watch on a Sunday

Sep 15 2017 BY Chanel Buituron

Sundays are probably the worst for day-time TV and let’s face it, the least productive day of the week. Here’s 5 box-sets that I can guarantee will refrain your boredom on your lazy days.

1.The Sopranos

The American crime series focuses on the life of Italian MOB boss Tony Soprano, his surrounding family and his rivals. Every episode focuses on a different member of the MOB and their individual story, mainly focusing on Tony balancing home life and his involvement in a criminal organisation. This series contains a lot of crime, violence, and endings that will make you want to watch more. I’ve watched this series a numerous amount of times and still go back to it. This series is at the top of my list because of how intriguing it really is, this is definitely one of the best series of all time. If you love old- school gangster crime series then I can guarantee the Sopranos is for you.

You can find The Sopranos on SKY box sets or Netflix.

2. Stranger Things

This series is one I wish I had watched sooner when it first came out, I didn’t jump on the bandwagon straight away, however, I’m glad I did. This series focuses on the story of  Mike, Will, Dustin, Lucas and let’s not forget Eleven in the 1980s. It’s a classic Sci-Fi whilst bringing a good amount of fear factor to the table. If you’re a Steven King fan, you’ll love this series, he is one of the people that inspired the Duffer brothers (the creators of the series) when creating the series. I don’t want to give much away but the boys are a close-knit group who love their aliens and Sci-Fi games and one fateful night turns their imagination into a reality, literally within the first episode.

3. American Horror Story

This is another all-time favourite of mine. I love anything that involves horror and gory but it needs to have a good storyline and plot. Whilst I love AHS there’s only a few of the series I can really recommend watching. Every series is different and focuses on different stories, the best series are 1.1 – Murder house, 1.2 – Asylum (the best one),  1.3, Coven, and 1.5 – Hotel. It’s directed perfectly and I can recommend watching this series rather than a horror film any day.

4. Modern Family

This comedy series focuses on three families that are absolutely hilarious. I love Gloria, she’s my favourite character in the series and I can assure you, she will have you in stitches. This is one of the funniest series I have ever watched, I spent a whole day watching it because every episode is different and there’s not one episode I’ve seen that hasn’t got me in stitches. Definitely one of the best for a dull Sunday!

5. Pretty Little Liars

I hate to put this last one my list but sadly it is, but even though it’s the last, it’s certainly not the least! This series focuses on five girls in the town of Rosewood, Pennsylvania. The clique falls apart when Allison DiLaurentis (the main girl of the group) goes missing. This series reminds me of mean girls (you’ll see what I mean when you watch it, especially Allison as Regina George) but on another level. This really is a psychological plotted series making you question everyone’s intention within the series, as it focuses on determining who A is. I even got my boyfriend really into this series so honestly, it’s one for everyone!
